Hoku Energy Joins UN’s 24/7 Carbon Free Energy Compact

Hoku Energy Limited (UK) is pleased to announce its participation in the 24/7 Carbon-free Energy Compact (“24/7 CFE Compact”). This participation is in line with our commitment to promote sustainable energy solutions and strengthen relationships with our partners and stakeholders in the effort to reduce carbon emissions globally.

Launched in 2021 by UN-Energy and Sustainable Energy for All, the 24/7 CFE Compact is a voluntary commitment with over 160 signatories (as of Sep 2024) that aims to match every hour, every day of electricity consumption on every energy grid with carbon-free sources of electricity generation. It is both the end state of a fully decarbonized electricity system and a transformative approach to energy procurement, supply, and policy design that is critical to accelerating its arrival. Signatories, including governments, large energy consumers, and Hoku Energy, are working together to develop and scale solutions that enable 24/7 CFE by participating in meetings and events, sharing lessons learned, and helping to grow the movement.

Hoku Energy will be actively engaged in the community and committed to accelerating the decarbonization of the grid across regions.
